Vaginal Atrophy Treatment Options
More than half of all postmenopausal women experience vaginal atrophy, but very few seek treatment, and the truth of the matter is that it is very treatable condition.
Vaginal moisturizers or lubricants can help restore some moisture to your vaginal area and provide some temporary relief, but they will not eliminate the underlying cause of the vaginal atrophy. Effective long term treatments for vaginal atrophy range and its varying symptoms, ranging from local vaginal hormone therapy, to systemic estrogen therapy, as well as a number of non-hormonal over-the-counter creams and gels.
